How to play hockey in Russia

Hello! Have just meet a column by ex-NHL guy Ryan Whitney who then played in KHL club "Sochi" in the same-name city. I was good laughing reading about the country in words of a foreign guy who had the experience. Exaggerated of course but was interesting. I don't know exactly the "inner kitchen" of KHL clubs, though many things looks real. Hope you will enjoy this like me

Ryan Whitney is a well known player here to anyone who follows hockey. I didn't realize he had gone to play in the KHL after his NHL career was over.

I doubt it was exaggerated. Russia is a big culture shock to North Americans. The Russian players who come here have the same thing happen to them. It's why a lot of really good Russian players struggle and go back home. It's not their hockey but the fact they are 'fish out of water'.

On the plus side he said Russian women are very beautiful. So you've got that going for you.
