Dear all,

Many thanks for the interest and a special thanks to Igor for taking the initiative to PM a lot of players not usually active at the forums. I have no special wishes regarding how to do it, and wish only for the solution that gets us the highest number of happy participants :-). I do propose a cut off date for November 1 for signing up, and a date for kick off a week later (November 8). Let me know if it sounds reasonable.

Also based on the response from this forum I would be inclined to favor a 3-day turn limit and some version of Round Robin possibly followed by a finals or something. Would this be a fair reading of the general mood of the community?

Any help with the organizing as well as with deciding the logistically easiest way to do it - who plays whom and how ect. - is greatly appreciated.

Best wishes

Probably there will be 2 group rounds and the final match (or two half-finals before?)
Looks good to define the winner before New Year. I would offer to start 1st of November and to stop registration a week before, that looks enough to define structure of the tourney.

For making groups balanced each other, we may create some "baskets" for players with same statistics, and then to separate players from baskets to all groups.
If it looks good enough, I would offer to create 3 baskets:
Red basket - players who at least once was in top 3 in 1vs1 ladder seasons;
Green basket - players who has 100 or more completed 1vs1 ladder games or who is registered in 2011 or earlier;
White basket - players who has less than 100 completed 1vs1 ladder games and (in the same time) who is registered in 2012 or later.

If do this, we will get for 28 players who is in at this moment:
Red basket (5 players): AngryOgre, Igor, razurandal, Solo, tabanli.
Green basket (13 players): AtomicDustmen, Feanor, kerog, KGB, lawlord, magian, Moonknight, nobibla, RaakaArska, SatanicLan, smursh, TheVic, Tim.
White basket (10 players): Chazar, Erotavlas, Gulgar, IsoA, Khardan, LordNerevar, mdoh, Mixel, mowhar, SirDrinkALot.
Players insides each basket are devided by alphabet.

When we will choose number of groups for first round we will choose 1 player from Red basket, 1-2 players from Green basket and 1-2 players from White basket for placing into each group. Or so.
Please place your comments about idea of baskets. They are for to separate players between groups more proportionally. For example, all players from Red basket will not be in one group for first round etc.

Other variant to create baskets is:
Red basket - the same (5 players).
Green basket - players who at least once was in top 15 in 1vs1 ladder seasons (6 players).
White basket - players who wasn't in top 15 in 1vs1 ladder seasons (17 players).
Let's choose what deviding is better

I'd play, so long as turns are at least 1.5 days. Would prefer 2 day turns. -Garesch

If there is still space, I'm in.

Just a quick question though. What about sitters? Can you use them for this, is there anyway to control that?
