Is there some definite details for the tournament, may be planned start date or so? Two tournaments will bring 6 additiona games in the same time, whould be good to know when this will be, just to optimize current games.

It seems that most preferred tournament type is groups.
Since there could be people who might have problems starting 6 games exactly at the same time, lets start 1x1 first and then 2x2

In order to start we need to define maps.

So we have to message the admins with the following info:
1x1 Tour
Max players 32 (groups of 4, some groups of 3 if number is not completed)
Group phase 1 Map
Group phase 2 Map
Group phase 3 Map
Double elimination finals map

and after that:

2x2 Tour
Max players 32 (16 couples)
Group phase 1 Map
Group phase 2 Map
Double elimination finals map

We could do that in the opposite order (2x2 first)

When we do that we shall have a timeline...
8-)

Obviously, if everyone states any map any type, it is not helping in selecting the maps

Who will finally make a dicision about maps?

32 players for 1v1 may be too optimistic in the moment. May be 16-24 or so. If 32, this then may be about 8-16 empty places. I am not absolutely sure, but since last tournament number of active players is downgraded from 125 to 75. May be, for sure, better to make 1v1 for 16 players and 2v2 for 8 pairs? Or anyway to take a bunch of optimism? :)

Might this suggest the movement increases for the Sorceress might be too cheap?

I am sure there is a thread for this. I will go look around.

If it is less than 32, some groups in phase 1 may have 3 opponents first 2 advance
Solved
:ugeek:

Final decision on the maps should be done from players.
Let's give a week to other players to state preferences :)

Perhaps no one will say anything more, all who are interested to watch and who are courage enough to tell something has already done this. Just choose maps and let's go to start this one, 1v1

I agree with Igor, just make the 1v1 tourney for 16 players. First 16 to signup get in the tourney. Those who miss out can play in the team one instead. I too doubt there will be 32 active players.

As for map, my preference is for 100x100 for 1v1. Not too big that games will take forever to complete and not so small the Sorceress dominates the map.

These are the maps I think would be good for a 1v1 tournament (they are not to big and on most of them the Sorc is under controll and they got some game to them and good balance):
Hammer Mountain, Wild Runs, Four Lords Original, Central Sahara, Michuaquan and Abbandoned Kingdom.

Ice Showdown and River Crossing could also work, although I think the Sorc is abit overwhelming on River Crossing.

More than 50 people were logged in during last 48 hours.
Let's make 1x1 with 32 max participants and give everyone the opportunity to join
:D
I also don't want to risk the probability not to make a timely enroll because I ll be away for few days near orthodox Easter

I ll try to summarize maps mentioned so far:

4 players named some maps so far:
Igor, Makmak, Nobibla, Vicotnic.

There was a mention for large maps on finals (Igor) and not large maps (KGB)

The following maps have been named by more than one player:

Abandoned Kingdom
Central Sahara
Four Lords (original?)
Hammer mountain
Michuaquan
River crossing

I suggest we limit selection among these 6 maps.

We need 5 maps for 32 players duels with groups

1st Group phase map
2nd Group phase map
3rd Group phase map
Semifinals
Final

So anyone willing to do the choice may put 5 out of the mentioned 6 maps to the above slots and map selection is done
