1x1 double elimination

Discuss ongoing tournaments and plans for new tournaments

I'm voting for the least used maps only so that we don't have a huge advantage for the players who play the popular maps over and over again. That's one reason I wish you had included new maps like Loch Ice, WildRuns and seldom used ones like Lava Duel, SciFi Circuit Card, Tundra Conflict etc.

Medium/Small
Digital Clover
Narcissus
Abandon Kingdom
Rivalry
The Waste

Large
Fjutts Demise
Hexagon
Daradorn Valley

small maps;
rivalry
narcissus
high seas combat
digital clover
the waste
not on the list but marshlands is a new map that few have played so would be a nice challenge
daradorn valley

large maps tend to be blown up by sorceress 1x1 unless all cities have multiple defenders so only good choice:

We should also combine Sea-MAPS ; Specific land maps and mixed-land maps so that one style shouldn't dominate

Is there any way to avoid the situation that 2 hardcore players will meet in first round to make tournament fair?

There is no official way to separate hardcore players, It is random
But double elimination tour allows a second chance if you lose once :)

double eliminations are good idea, but it is not enough, good players may meet in first round after eliminations.

You play a different opponent the second time if you lose, it is winners-losers bracket ;)

I tend to agree with KGB that it would be nice to see some new maps, but:

Hammer Mountain
Rivalery
Digital Clover
Narcissus
Snowflake (if it is the KGB version)
High Sea Combat
Hexagon
The Waste

I think airstream and vortex would be horrible choices, the sorc is totally out of controll on those maps and sorc on sorc battle depend so much on ruin luck not to mention she is a fast moving fragile unit that you cant scout ahead of and on whom your whole game hangs.

I don't think it is really bad, just a suggestion for future tournaments

Several opinions were stated on map preferences and dislikes :D
I tried to combine the percious input in a way everyone is somewhat happy
This was not easy but did my best :?

I tried to:
- Put fast maps in first rounds to have some quick tour progress and avoided huge maps
- Include different play styles and terrains
- Include all top preferred maps with few proposed seldom maps and avoided maps that there where objections
- Avoid the usual problem of endless discussions on maps

When you try to make everyone happy the usual result is that noone is happy

I hope this is not the case here
:)

That is in the next post you will see the proposed maps.

If there is a strong objection on a map please state it and propose alternative bearing in mind the stated preferences and dislikes

If there is not a strong objection let's lock the maps and go to admins
8-)

Here follows the proposed maps list:
