I don't see the benefit of option #2, nor see myself playing it. But #3 holds a lot of intrigue :)

Ah OK, Game Mode 2.

I'm not sure how popular this is going to be. What's the advantage over Mode 1 (the current way things work)? Is there any real demand for Mode 2? I personally can't see myself ever playing that kind of game. I'll either play Mode 1 or Mode 3 games

The problem in Mode 2 is that someone is going to get an advantage of being able to do double turns no matter what you do. Even if you add 1-4 hours when the last person finishes or make turns start at a fixed time (say every 24 hours, starting at Midnight GMT even if all players have already finished their turn) there will be someone who can take advantage of it based on timezone or by simply being able to be by their computer when the next turn starts. This is why I can't see mode 2 being worth while coding.
