Winning Percentages ending FFA games prematurely

Postby KGB » Fri Aug 13, 2010 9:51 pm

I remember the polls and indeed I took another look at the results again just now the result was a vote for 70% or better.

The reason I did so is that the winning percentage in the FFA games is set SO low (50%) that many very well contested games are being considered 'over' just as they are getting interesting.

For example in a recent FFA game my opponent was declared the winner with 41 cities while I had 38 (we were the last 2 survivors). I hardly think that game was 'over'. In another of my games that just ended today I had 40 cities and my opponent 25 with 15 neutrals remaining (players dropped out). Overall the armies/heroes were equal so it could well have gone either way.

In some games where only 3 players remain one player reaches 50% of the cities just as the other 2 are teaming up against him again making it a very hotly contested game that again ends way before a winner is apparent.

So is there any chance the winning percentage in the FFA games can be changed now from 50% to 70% to prevent the accidental ending of games prematurely?

had this happen to me too. We had a lot of fighting left to do & game ended prematurely. I would vote for a move to 70%.

Ok, increased to 70% for all Beta2 FFA games.
