Lets take a quick poll for the winning conditions for FFA games for beta2. Remember that the game is open (no fog of war), so the winning conditions for beta3 games with FOW will probably be diffrent

I assumed this meant a percentage of cities left standing (not razed). Otherwise it may be impossible to fill without capturing every city on the map.

I made that same assumption for 1-1 games as well.

The one thing that setting a % of cities does is penalize a player who has a few but strongly defended cities and couple of great hero stacks.

Such a player might well possibly win (by razing the opponent one city at a time) if their opponent has weak/no heroes and a bunch of cities that are only lightly defended. In DLR this kind of scenario happened all the time so I fully expect it would be possible here as well.

This is why I prefer to play on till everyone resigns or you eliminate all players.

I agree with KGB

I would also prefer to play on till everyone resigns or are eliminated.

We just played a similar game to what you describe where the one with strong armies/few cities well could have won the game.

Yes playing to the end is much better than having a percentage set as winning condition.

In a game vs steff I had a very strong hero dominating with Command +4 but I had quite few cities... It was quite even fight and we were both surprised that the game suddenly ended.

Perhaps let the Creator of a game select a specific Winning condition if desired. 70-90% interval would be OK.

Yea, the idea is that the gamehost should be able to choose winning conditions when setting up the game.
This poll is for beta2 only, if I should do a quick and easy change of the %
