So after the razing, the city started to produce another type of unit (heavy cav) compared to what it did previously (heavy inf)?

I think he always meant to say Hv Calv. His initial post says Hv Inf every 2 turns and later in another post he says Hv Calv is standing on the city site (esp since you get Hv Calv every other turn as alluded to in his 1st post).

Any chance this city was was 'active' when it was conquered? That might explain why it continues to produce if the game logic didn't clear things properly.

The city produced heavy cavalry, not heavy infantry. I comfused the words due to my haste (I hope I remember the expression correctly)
