Forgot how to ambush?

Good day,

In my game, id 24962, I assaulted a neutral city defended by a mammoth and a medusa. The mammoth died eventually and then the medusa stepped up. This was the combat log when the medusa entered combat:

Ambush roll:
Defender: Medusa rolls 34 (0) Miss!

Is this glitched, or did I miss a patch note somewhere about how neutral ambush operates?

Neutral units have 0 in ambush currently. We are still considering if we should change this or not.

The answer is yes, you should, or, only make ambush apply to someone who is attacking for all sides. I see little difference between a neutral defending with ambush and a non-neutral defending with ambush.

On the other hand I love the fact my Barbarian can rampage freely though neutrals full of Orcs, Wolfriders, Ghosts and Medusas with no fear of dying.

I've been laboring under the delusion that I needed to protect from ambush, even though you've told us this before. Now I feel silly wasting all those scouts and such trying to prevent my griffon/sandworm/etc from being ambushed.
