The goal of Warbarons
Warbarons is about being a smart strategist. To win the game you must either eliminate all other players or capture 80% of the cities that are stillstanding.

How to start Warbarons
Warbarons is a turn based game for 2 - 8 players per game. You can participate in several games simultanously.

You start by either joining or hosting a new game in the create / join game tab. When a game is created the host will decide which map to play, how many players are needed to start the game and some other game specific settings.

When all open positions of the game are filled the game will start within 10 minutes. The player order is randomized when the game is started.

How to play Warbarons
When the game is started one of the players will get the first turn, you can see in your account who has the turn right now by looking at the white border arounda shield. The black dotted border around a shield is you. You can also see how much time he have left to complete his turn. If someone haven't done his turn in timeit will be passed forward to the next player. After missing 3 turns you will lose and your castles will be transfered back to the computer, but if you don't want tocontinue a game please use the surrender tab so the other players don't have to wait for your turns to time out.

When its your turn the game will be highlighted in your account. You can open the game by clicking the arrow to see where you started on the map. If its not your turn when you click the arrow you will open the game in observer mode which means that you can look around and perform some actions such as managing your cities and heroes.

When its your turn
On you first turn you will start with buying production capacity and starting armies in your capital. Capitals generate about 3 times as much income compared to othercities so be careful to not lose it. You will also get a new hero. Heroes are your most valueable units as they will gain experience and get stronger and better at leadingyour armies. You will receive offers to buy more heroes later in the game, the more money you have in the bank the higher chance to get a hero with good allies.
You will then be prompted to decide which army you want to produce, a city can only produce one type of army at a time even if it has the capacity to produce several differentunit types.Buying new production is not the same as producing units.

As soon as you are done in your capital you should look around the map to see which cities you can get to quickly to capture. All cities start out as neutral computer owned cities, meaning they are protected by the best unit they can produce. To get a good start it's important to capture as many neutral cities as possible early so you can start building an army early to use vs the otherhuman players.

Newbie tips
Warbarons is quite complicated for a new players and when you got the first hang of how to play you might start to wonder sbout various details, like how different armies stand against each other or whatvectoring is about, or what the difference between city wall and defence strangth is. To find out all the details in the game there is something called warpedia whichis like a wikipedia for warbarons. You can use it to read up on all the details of the game.If there is something you can't find in the warperdia try to ask on our forum. There are helpful people there who can answer all your questions.

Game pacing
A game of 8 players can take quite a while to play, 1-2 turns per week is normal until some players are eliminated. To get the game move faster make sure that you do your turnas fast as possible. When all players strive to do their turn quickly even 8 player games can move forward at a good pace.

There is a option called speed when hosting a game. This option will create a timer on the join page and then in the game. As long as this timer is counting the game will be played in speed mode which means that players have between 3-5 minutes to complete their turn. In other words to join a speed game you must be prepared to spend a couple of hours infront of your computer. When the times reaches 0 the game will change into normal mode and you will have a few days to make your turn.
